It is an acknowledged fact that Bhagwan Valmik Ji is known all over the world for his famous Yoga Vasistha & Ramayana. The Yoga Vasistha is about gaining awareness of godliness i.e. achieving final liberation (salvation); Mukti and Moksha and The Ramayana of Lord Ram tells us about Lord Ram and his life. Both the holy books were written in the ancient language of Sanskrit, which makes them the oldest holiest books in history. These works compiled by Bhagwan Valmik Ji were all written in verse form, thus making him the first poet (Aadhkari) of this world.
The birth place of Bhagwan Valmik Ji was Multan (in modern Pakistan); Bhagwan Valmik Ji’s parents were CHARSHANI his mother and VARNU PARCHETA his father.
Bhagwan Valmik Ji became such a highly respected and renowned poet that all other poetry writers would consult him on works in verse. Bhagwan Valmik Ji’s MAHA RAMAYAN (Yoga Vasistha) and Ramayana (Ram Katha) are both considered to be the greatest works of poetry of all time. They are considered to be the shining pillars of religious works in Indian civilisation. These two great works by the first poet (AADHKAVI) leads humankind towards peace of mind, unity and fraternity.
It is also said that these great works of Bhagwan Valmik Ji were written on Brahma Ji’s advice. Rishi Bhardwaj was Bhagwan Valmik Ji’s first disciple, who achieved final liberation (Mukti, Moksha), followed by King ASHTARNEMI, Lord RAM and many others, And because of this Bhagwan Valmik Ji is known by several names such as AADH KAVI (first poet), MUSIC MASTER, AATAM DARSHI (Self Knowledge) BRAHAM GYANI (Knowledge of God) and MAHA MUNI (Great SAGE).
Kālidāsa a Classical Sanskrit writer, widely regarded as the greatest poet and dramatist in the Sanskrit language referred to Bhagwan Valmik Ji as JAGAT GURU (World Guru). Bhagwan Valmik Ji was and is held in such high admiration that he attended and sanctified the PANDAV JAGYA.
It is also a notable fact that during the past centuries, details and truths regarding Bhagwan Valmik Ji and his works have sadly been distorted and incorrectly represented. However truth is always known to rise above falsehood.
